Episode 167 – 21st December 2012 – END OF THE WORLD SPECIAL!

A Christmas special episode devoted entirely to the many things that could destroy the earth and humanity. We talk about the Mayan prophecies, the believers, the history, as well as real threats to our survival from space, from technology and from nuclear weapons. Plus we also manage to squeeze in the more localised world ending scenarios of unhealthy eating and the sequel to seminal videogame Elite.

  1. I’d like to urge everybody to spend freely on David Braben’s kickstarter. I’ve upped my pledge to £80 – this has got to happen!

  2. How it comes that best of podcasts I have heard comes from UK? :)

Loved it, especially last funny segment how to profit from the end of the world, also David’s interview about Elite: Dangerous was so positively charged. Thanks.

  3. Great show, everyone! I really enjoyed it!

Just one thing, though. When you were discussing the various scenarios in which the world might actually end, I was amazed that you didn’t discuss what is arguably the most plausible of all: a freak accident at the Large Hadron Collider triggering a zombie apocalypse.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
