Hey hey! Ogg Vorbis format! The Free revolution has arrived! Nice move, James.

Sean, how do you feel about Ogg?

    Salim,

I like Ogg Vorbis. Anything I rip from CD’s goes into that format in preference to MP3. Where an alternative is offered, I will download podcasts in Ogg Vorbis format. I have chosen both my car stereo (Silvercrest KH2380, from Lidl, believe it or not) and our personal music players (Samsung YP1 and YP4) on their ability to handle Ogg Vorbis.

I prefer open solutions, but I’m not a zealot. Honest. I don’t have a big beard, for a start.

Also, people say that it gives better audio quality, especially at low bit rates. I can’t comment on that as I have a bit of a tin ear when it comes to that sort of thing.
